How is the gas milage in a 96-98 Nissan Pathfinder? Is it an overall good vehicle? Im interestred in getting one in about three-four months, and I'm just doing some research on them. Serious feedback only please. Thank you.
Answer:Let me tell you something about 98 nissan pathfinder. believe me I drove it for 8 years now. It gets good gas mileage in highway , the gas consumption is pretty bad in stop and go busy city traffic. the gas consumption in that car is very sensitive to outside factors. like tires, air filters... etc. It definitely is a good buy. It will run forever if you make sure you do the regular maintenance. a full tank will generally get you from 260-310 with 19 gallons of gas. My best gas mileage when mine was perfectly tuned up with lot of highway miles was 335 miles for the full tank. It gets about 20 miles per gallon on highway and about 15-16 per gallon in city with moderate traffic. I hope this helps
Also would be other good SUV to use as a work and family vehicle if you don't think Nissan Pathfinder's are good SUV for a work suv and family vehicle? Years between 1995-2001
Answer:You really need two vehicles for that. One for work and one for family. If one breaks down you can temporarily do double duty till you get it back up again.
Looking to buy one or the other, a 1996 through 2000, people tell me nissan pathfinder is better, want to know why these models are better than the ford explorer.
Answer:The Nissan is better because: -more reliable -holds its value better -put together better - higher quality materials -better motor, unless the Ford has a V8 -better looks -better off road if needed - better handler on road -the whole Firestone Fiasco w/ Explorers To be fair, the Ford has some advantages: -cheaper to repair -plenty of parts -same model year cheaper vs pathfinder -better straight line/highway ride -roomier -V8 offered -more towing capacity
How can I easily differentiate between a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder?
Answer:Look at the production date on the drivers door or opening under the latch. Look at the spec tag inside the engine compartment and see for what year emissions standards the car is equipped for, it's the same as the model year.
So, i'm considering a purchase of a Nissan Pathfinder. But right now I have a lovely little 4 cylinder that costs 16.57 to fill up (at current gas rates $1.99) What i'd like to know is how much does it cost to fill up a Nissan Pathfinder 2000-2004 model year
Answer:Ok at $2 a gallon a 2000 to 2004 pathfinder has a 20.7 gallon tank SO around 40 dollars with 1 gallon left reserve. Just remember that bigger heavy SUV that is not areodynamic will not get as good fuel economy. But it will be more rugged able to tow a trailer and much more cargo room.
i have a 1991 nissan pathfinder and im trying to figure out why when it sits for a while or after the thing has cooled down when i go to start it it floods itself and i cant start it. i have to let it sit for a while or hold the gas down and clear the flood and when it does start it barely runs for a min or so until it clears the flood. after the flood is cleared it runs fine. if anyone can help me i would really appreciateit.
Answer:The only thing I can think of is that if you have a weak battery in cooler weather it does not spin the engine fast enough to start right away and after a moment of slow cranking your engine is flooded. I had this happen to me once in cold weather.
How would I go about replacing the fuel pump on a 1987 nissan pathfinder? Do I need to take the gas tank off?
Answer:That car has an in-tank fuel pump and strainer assembly, so yes, you have to take the gas tank off (or drop it down enough to gain access at least). It's easier than you think... be smart about it. Drain the tank, use a jack with a wood block under it, you'll have it done in no time.
I am trying to replace the rear speakers of a 1992 Nissan Pathfinder and I am having a heck of a time finding speakers that fit. After being led astray (several times) by Best Buy employees I am getting a little annoyed. Anyone out there know? Thanks.
Answer:6x9 is the usual size for rear speakers.
I just purchased a 1992 Nissan Pathfinder and need to know what 2 of the switches are for. One is on the dash and it has E-AT on it with power on one side and auto on the other. The other is on the center console and doesn't have anything on it but when it is in the on position it has a tiny light that comes on. What are these switches for?
Answer:
The vehicle is a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder. The speedometer will sit at 0 when you start driving, then move up to somewhere between 0-5mph or 0-10mph. Then it will jump to 30mph and if the vehicle is driven for an extended time - sometimes the speedometer will give an accurate reading. Or at least one that seems accurate. What could be causing this dancing speedometer? Thanks!
Answer:Hi there ! That is a very common problem to Nissan's from 93 to 96. I have seen what you are describing many , many times. The speedometer will work erratic or not at all while the odometer keeps on going or both will not work. The speedometer is run electrically.(i do not mean digital!) The main Integrated Chip on the speedometers circuit board has gone bad. This causes erratic or no operation of the speedometer/odometer.There is no way to repair the problem. You must get a new or used speedometer. My local pick n pull junkyard will sell me a speedometer for $20.00 for that vehicle in San Jose California.(the dealership wants $180.00 brand new.) If i set the mileage on the used speedometer and removed and installed on your vehicle ; i would charge you $120.00 for that vehicle. it would take me about 90 minutes to do the job. I hope that helps. Good Luck!
